And if Jeff is still around, does this sound like an issue? The fw notes say Boss will not answer any questions about the update procedure. So things seem fine now, but have I screwed something that will cause an issue with a later fw update?Ĭan any Mac user with the 100 Combo comment on what they see under Devices in Tone Studio. Selecting the second "Katana" fails to connect. The only odd thing I have notice (I'm on a Mac) is that when I go to System and Device, Katana is shown twice. Since doing this, things seem ok, and the Tone Studio works to edit tones (and I can see the lights changing on the amp as I change settings in Tone Studio). The firmware note expressly say not to do this. So, I have potentially updated the firmware when I didn't need to. A bit of experimenting showed it was flashing purely because that was the last channel I was on, and when the amp is set to Standby, the selected Channel flashes!!! The firmware check presumably only refers to the first 1-2 seconds as the amp powers up!!! I am quite pee'd off about this lack of clarity, as I was SUPER careful with the update process. It says to check the fw again (power on in Standby holding TAP). My CH1 was flashing so I updated, seemingly without issue. The procedure to check the firmware says if any Tone Setting buttons flash, you need to update. For home use, I prefer 50W with lower Master rather than the 0.5w mode. I got the 100 w 1X12 delivered today with the GA-FC. Furthermore, no security is promised or implied by The Gear Page owners, administrators, or moderators.
